What customers say?

“ The Tonkatsu set meal for ¥950 was incredible. Me and my wife found this place by pure coincidence and it was genuinely one of the best lunches we had during our time traveling. As an English speaker your best bet is to use the translate app on the hand written menu outside, decide on what sounds good and then take a photo of the menu to show to the owner to order. Also, the miso soup, tea, and rice are all self serve and the miso soup was the best we had all trip. Next time we’re back in Japan we will make sure to come back ”

“ So mich good food for a real low price. The owner doesn't know English, but we knew enough Japanese and used Google Translate. Most of the customers were regulars. We got the tonkotsu meal set. That was the best miso soup I've had in years. The meat was really good too and it paired well with the tea. ”

- Moriko Handford -

“ I absolutely love this place for lunch; it's old-school Showa era, in the best way. If you're coming in as an English speaker, you're best off just ordering "tonkatsu-tei", the pork cutlet set, or "buta shouga-tei", the ginger pork set. Rice, soup, and tea are self service, watch what everyone else is doing and you'll be fine. ”
